Dr. Fatima Al-Fahdi
Is specialist in the Environmental & Occupational Health department in Ministry of Health. She is highly qualified Environmental and Occupational Health professional with over 15 years of experience in occupational health, environmental health, and waste management at the national level in Oman.
Fatima holds a Master’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH) from Monash University, Australia, and a Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Sultan Qaboos University.
In her leadership roles, Fatima has been instrumental in shaping environmental health policies and strategies. She currently serves as the World Health Organization’s focal point for foodborne disease estimates in Oman (2023-2025). Previously, Fatima has held various senior positions, including Head of Environmental and Occupational Health Section at the Directorate General of Health Services of Muscat Governorate. She has contributed significantly to national efforts, such as the national chemical safety committee and COVID-19 response teams, and has led numerous public health initiatives, including the national measles vaccination campaign.
