Dr. Amina Al-Jardani
Senior Consultant Medical Microbiologist at the Central Public Health Laboratories (CPHL) at the Ministry of Health in Oman and co-director of the WHO Collaboration Center for Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. She is the head of the Antimicrobial Resistance section at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention at Ministry of Health and the national Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) focal point. She is the chairperson for the Global Laboratory Leadership Program National Working Group in Oman. Her research interests are in the field of antimicrobial resistance, especially among Gram negative organisms and in the epidemiology of invasive pneumococcal disease, molecular epidemiology of Tuberculosis, enteric infections and the emerging viral infections, such as MERS COV & SARS COV-2, and zoonotic viral infections prevalent in Oman. She published over 80 peer review articles in peer reviewed journals.
